What was your first job?
.
Well, I was a waitress at a Mexican restaurant in Knoxville. I didn’t last in this position very long. Back in the 70’s I guess it was legal to tell someone to clock out and then make them go clean the bathroom…. but I wasn’t having any part of that…ha. No way!
.
I worked this job for 2 weeks and never went back. Am I too good to clean a bathroom? NEVER! But at the time I did think I was too good to clean a public bathroom FOR FREE! ha ha.
.
I guess this was the start of me knowing, I needed to always go the extra mile for my employees.
.
I had observed my dad in action with his employees for years. He was a Pharmacist and owned one of the largest drug stores in the Knoxville area…and the soda fountain was where I would hang out most of the time. He loved his employees like family, and in return they wanted to go the extra mile for him. That was my first lesson in an amazing culture and atmosphere in a working environment.
.
No, I didn’t last long at my first job. But I sure do love where I am now. My staff is amazing, they are like family, and I cherish all their talents and friendships.
