Angela Floyd School Ambassadors Program

Bringing the Gift of Dance and Music to Children All Over East Tennessee

Ambassadors Program is Full for the 2018-2019 Season!  You may still apply for the 2019-2020 Season.


Must be 11 years old or older and currently enrolled in dance or music lessons

Must host a minimum of 1 collection drive during 2018-2019 season (Examples: Toy collection (for Ronald McDonald House or Toys for Tots) dance wear, old costumes and shoes that people have outgrown (will be donated to either Beaumont Academy Magnet School Knoxville, Boys and Girls Club Knoxville or Traveling Tutus) ; small musical instruments that people no longer use (will be donated to Beaumont Academy Magnet School Knoxville or Boys and Girls Club Knoxville).

Must organize a minimum of 2 fundraising events (Examples: father/daughter dance, paint pointe shoes party, etc)  Money collected will be donated to an agreed upon local charity.

Must participate in social media posts from AFS for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram  (share, like, comment if appropriate)

Must share about AFS Dance and Music Programs in our community, our school, and on social media in a positive post.

Must assist with dance or music workshops based in your field of study.

  • You should refer to this list of ideas to post about that will give you incentives to help AFS along the way.
  • You will receive text alerts and a few phone calls throughout the year for support.
  • You will be announced as one of the 2018-2019 AFS School Ambassador on all social media sites and our lobby monitors.
  • ***If you are currently only a dance or only a music student, then please know we will make sure you get all the information that will help you along the way.

July:  Help put out AFS signs in the Knoxville area.

August:  Back to School at AFS social media post…………encourage Knoxville to enroll at AFS.

September: (1) Take a picture & post you and your friends preparing for the Music Video Workshop be held Sep. 15th. (I need one Ambassador Assistant)  (2) Post about Arts for the Amazing (I need all of you to Assist on Sept. 1) (3) Post about our Brownie’s Dance Badge Workshop & Jr. Girl Scout Music Badge Workshop.  (I need at least one Assistant) (4) Post about BRING A FRIEND WEEK – Sept. 10-15.  (5) Post about Awareness Week (Sept. 17-22) to wear turquoise for National Piano Month. (6) Post about Community Appreciation Week at AFS Oct. 1-6 where classes are complimentary for everyone in the Knoxville and surrounding areas to try!

October:  (1) Post about it’s not too late to register for Dance and Music Lessons.  (2) Arts for the Amazing – (I need all of you to assist Oct. 6th that are not in the Star Leadership Program.  & Fall Break is Oct. 8-13 and WE ARE OPEN FOR CLASSES.  (3) Post about 24/7 Dance Convention!   Oct. 13th. It is open to all students at AFS and not just company dancers.   (4) Post about Awareness Week and wear orange for Bully Prevention Week Oct. 15-20.  (5) Post about Mermaid Acrobatics Workshop to be held on the 27th.  (I need at least one Assistant).  (6) Show and Tell Week in classes Oct. 29-Nov. 3.

November:  (1) Spread the word on social media to GIVE THE GIFT OF Dance and Music for the Holidays.  Help promote the Fantasy of Trees show.  (2)  I need all Ambassadors to assist with Arts for the Amazing on Nov. 3 if you are not part of the Star Leadership Program. (3) Post about the Trolls Workshop that is Nov. 10th. (4)  Post about Show and Tell Week Nov. 12 – 17.  (5) Post about our Fantasy of Trees Show and how it is a benefit for Children’s Hospital (Nov. 22).

December:  (1) Post about Arts for the Amazing Dec. 1 ( I need all Ambassadors to assist with Arts for the Amazing on Dec. 1 if you are not part of the Star Leadership Program.  (2) Post About Awareness Week December 3-8 wear something sparkly to class and make a homemade gift for someone. (3) Post about the Christmas Parade that is Dec. 7th. (4) Post about the Cindy Lou Who’s tutu party with the Grinch on the 8th. (I will need at least one Ambassador Assistant) & the Ukulele Workshop.

January:  Collect old pointe shoes from AFS students and anyone in the Knoxville or surrounding area for a fun event in March. Promote Frozen Workshop held on the 20th.

February:  Help Host a Father/Daughter Dance at AFS …………just for the fun of it! (Ages 2 and up) Fees raised will be given to the charity chosen by the ambassador’s. Help promote the Easter Bunny Party that will be March 31.

March:  Help Host – PAINT THE POINTE SHOE Party at AFS. (use donated pointe shoes, have simple designs available to see and let everyone paint one pointe shoe to take home.  Donations raised from this event will be given to the Ronald McDonald House.  Promote All Ages Rock Music Party to be held on  April 7.

April: All Ages Rock Music Party April 7 Help Promote the  AFDC auditions May 5.

May: Help Promote Music recital and Dance Spring Concerts.

I will do my very best to host a minimum (1) collection drive and (2) fundraising events that are suitable for my school and that will benefit someone else in our community. I desire to help AFS grow this year and I look forward to learning new things.
